As part of our effort to expand coverage of women's soccer in Minnesota, we'll be running snap shot features of every Division II and Division III program in the state throughout the summer. Be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook to keep up with new content!

Where the team finished last year
Bethel University finished last season with a record of 9-7-2 overall (4-6-1 conference), which put them 9th in the DIII Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). But three returning all conference performers should give Bethel a good shot to compete heading into 2018.

Any awards the team won (all conference, all region, etc)
-Maggie Sipe (All MIAC) - 12g. 2a. Second most goals in the MIAC.
-Sierra Smith (Honorable Mention All MIAC) - Started 17 games as a sophomore on the back line.
-Brooke Ogne (Honorable Mention All MIAC) - 4g. 5a. Including two game winners
-Samantha Provost (All MIAC Sportsmanship Team) - 3g. 1a. Started 17 games.

From Heach Coach Amanda Maxwell

Describe the way you like the team to play

We strive to be a team of great character, hard working, never give up attitude.  We want to keep the ball on the ground, connect passes through our midfield, get our outside backs involved in the attack, and create chances by driving towards the goal.

Talk about the type of players you bring in (location, experience, etc)
Each year our incoming players come in from higher level club teams in Minnesota and in the region.  Our depth as a program is continuing to grow. In the past 6 seasons we have broke every school record, made it to the playoffs two times, 1 year finishing 2nd in the conference, so we are excited about the progress of our program and where we are headed.

Bethel is a Christian University and on our team, we place just as much importance on growing in your faith as we do on growing academically, socially, and on the soccer field.

Who are some key returning players?
We only lost  one starter from our team last year that finished around .500 so we are excited about our experience, depth, and incoming players.
- Maggie Sipe:  Leading Goal scorer and MIAC 2 time All Conference
- Brooke Ogne:  Center Midfielder and MIAC All Conference
-
Sierra Smith:  Outside Left back and MIAC All conference.

Who could be some new contributors?
We have a fantastic incoming class with Freshman and Transfers.
- Brittney Monteon transferring for her senior year from North Dakota State comes with a ton of accolades and will be a key contributor for us.
- Claire Radaatz was another standout MN high school player transferring who will make an immediate impact for our team.
- Four incoming freshman who will also make an immediate impact. Lauren Davis, Caela Helgemo, Tess Anderson, Rachel Waterman
