Where the team finished last year St Mary’s University of Minnesota finished last season with a record of 5-12-2 overall (0-9-2 conference), which put them at the bottom of the table in the DIII Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). But they showed some ability to grit through tough games, pushing a third of their matches into overtime. Any awards the team won (all conference, all region, etc) -Kendall Archer (2nd Team All MIAC) - 1g, 1a. Started 17 of 18 games as a freshman -Abby Lafko (Honorable Mention All MIAC) - 1g. Started all 18 games as a senior From Head Coach Neil Cassidy: Describe the way you like the team to play We like to play with a possession style of play the way soccer should be played and not the hit and hope style that is sometimes seen. Talk about the type of players you bring in (location, experience, etc) We are going to have 14 different States and Denmark on our roster this year which is exciting. We look for players that come from decent clubs and most are Identified through Showcases. Who are some key returning players? Who could be some new contributors? I make it a point to never talk about individuals good or bad as my belief is that it is a team sport and not one single player should be highlighted above anyone else How can people follow your team? From Head Coach Steve Bellis: Describe the way you like the team to play Always a tough question and it will depend upon the situation.....but hopefully you will see a team that is Creative going forward and attack minded in every position. Defensively strong as a unit and as individuals, every player will compete physically to ensure we win 1 v 1 battles. Team members are committed to a common purpose and have common goals.
